Business models coaching session in Germany
On 17th of June, the German Netzwerk Energiewende Jetzt (NEWJ) organised a coaching session within the framework of the EUCENA project.
Citizens' energy cooperatives are often characterised by unclear development perspectives. This coaching session supported a small group of 8 people working in an energy cooperative and wishing to gain a better insight into the development future of their own cooperative.
The session evolved around the identification of new business areas and ideas on how to expand the existing business areas in a meaningful and value-creating way.
The group worked around questions such as: How to deal with the lack of projects? Which business areas are still worth exploring at all? How can we properly position ourselves for the future?
The participants worked concretely with the business models of their own individual cooperatives. For this exercise, they used a model developed by Netzwerk Energiewende Jetzt, which allows business models to be analysed according to their own strengths and the market environment.
Together with the participants, different business areas were analysed: tenant power, electric charging stations, PV leasing up to 100 Kilowatt peak and solar PV construction.
