On February 2nd REScoop.eu and Climate Alliance joined forces to organise a Flemish CITYnvest workshop on how to finance energy efficiency investments in public buildings. Our workshop featured two financing models: Energy Performance Contracting (EPC) and the REScoop business model. Presentations and report (Dutch) are now publicly available.
Last week the European Commission published a series of proposals to reform the European Energy Market. REScoop.eu is happy that the Commission has finally recognised the benefits of community-owned renewables and cooperatives.
On 17 January 2017 REScoop.eu and Courant d'Air organised an interregional conference in Eupen (Belgium) on the topic of renewable energy. In an attempt to endorse the further engagement of local actors in the energy transition we invited local municipalities from Belgium, France, Germany, Luxemburg and the Netherlands. Presentations of the conference are now available.
264 million people or half of all European Union citizens could be producing their own electricity by 2050, and meeting 45% of the EU’s electricity demand. Collective projects like REScoops could contribute 37% of the electricity produced by prosumers.
