REScoop participated in the INSMART project’s final conference

Yesterday REScoop participated in the INSMART project’s final conference and learnt from its findings and lessons on new methodology for smarter energy planning.

INSMART is a three-year international research project funded by the Seventh Framework Programme of the European Commission. It aims to develop a methodology that helps all municipalities understand present and future energy consumption patterns and support them in making smart choices about the future of housing, public buildings and spaces, transport, the local economy and how to power them more efficiently. Four European Municipalities and six technical and academic partners are involved.

The project has used the tools and the City Energy System Model to develop an energy action plan for each partner city which includes a mix of sustainable energy measures to improve energy efficiency and maximise the use of renewable energy within each city.
